Notice of Race
Organizer: This event is organized by Windsurfing Tour in association with the International Funboard Class Association.
Location: Racing will be held in the waters of the Atlantic Ocean off of Virginia Key, Miami, Florida. The venue offers protected water inside of the reef located offshore, as well as open ocean conditions outside the reef. Weather conditions can range from 60 – 90 Fahrenheit with winds from 8 to 30 + knots at this time of year.
Rules:
This is an IWA sanctioned event governed by:
The 2009/2012 ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing – Windsurfing Competition Rules (WCR);
The 2009 IFCA Class Rules & Championship Rules;
The Notice of Race (“NoR”) & the Sailing Instructions (SIs);
Alterations to the SIs must be approved by the Class’s Race Supervisor; if there is a conflict between the NoR and the SI’s, the SI’s shall take precedence.
If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
Classes: For IFCA ranking, all competitors must comply with the rules of the class. Any competitor wishing to use equipment not approved by IFCA are welcome, but shall not be ranked in the official standings.
Kona Slalom Class : sailors will have a separate class and start , and will compete in different heats than IFCA class sailors ( kona boards will be available for charters , the course is only down wind slalom .

Per IFCA rules, a maximum of 2 boards and 4 sails shall be registered for the duration of the event. All equipment is subject to inspection and approval or rejection by Race Committee officials. The wind minimum for this event shall be 9 knots across the course as measured by the Race Committee.
